The Aegean coast and the Aegean Region of Turkey takes its name from the Aegean sea between Turkey and Greece. Aegean region is one of the seven regions of Turkey, located on the west coast, neighbouring the regions Marmara in which Istanbul is located and Mediterranean.
The third biggest and most populated city of Turkey, Izmir, is located in Aegean region which is worth visiting and staying all year around. It is also surrounded by popular towns and ancient sites such as Ephesus, Pergamon, Sardis, Smyrna, Alacati, Cesme, Foca.
Kusadasi is just 63 miles away from Izmir which is one of the main tourist attractions in Aegean Region. Furthermore there is Ayvalik, Bodrum, Didim, Dikili, Marmaris which are known to be the best locations for summer holidays.
All listed places cannot be seen within a day or two but if you’re staying in Istanbul, it is easier to reach to Gallipoli, Troy and Pergamum.
If you’re staying in Izmir or Kusadasi, it is easier to reach Pergamum, Ephesus, Priene, Didyma, Miletos, Pamukkale, Hierapolis, Aphrodisias, Bodrum, Euromos and Bafa Lake.
